Have you ever read The Last Words
of Jesus in the four Gospels?

His final words in each of the Gospels were

The Assignment that is given to every believer.

Matt 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations,

Mark 16:15 Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

Luke 24:48 You are my witnesses... I am sending you… You are clothed with power from on high.

John 21:19 Follow Me.

This is The Assignment!

Many Christian leaders do an excellent job with "You must be born again". But there is more. Look at what Jesus did in John 20:22. He breathed the Holy Spirit into the disciples. That was the seal of their redemption. They were now born again - transformed from spiritual death to spiritual life, forgiven, and endued with the power over sin and death.  Next, He said to these same disciples,

Gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, “Which,” He said, “you heard of from Me; for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.    Acts 1:4-5

When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.     Acts 2:1-4

We are endued with power as it is written in Matt 10:8 to Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Jesus gave us the power to move mountains, that is, speak to the dark spirits that are barriers to sin and sickness, and take authority over demons in the name of Jesus.

2000 Years Later

There is a reason why most Christians do not understand their assignment. The Bible is a big book. Only 1-2% of all people ever read it through once. And it is not presented in topical form.  The disciples had the privilege of asking Jesus questions and getting answers. They learned the Gospel firsthand.

When we had our first home group only a few of the 40-50 attendees had any in-depth knowledge of the Bible.  Most were spectators. We thought that there was a dire need for young and older Christians to know the Gospels and the major tenants of our faith. So we authored a series we call the Quick Notes that summarize the major topics of Christianity: one subject on one 8 1/2 by 11 page folded to fit in their Bible. The Quick Notes present a Biblical Worldview.

Now with the US Church shrinking in size and more devastatingly being deceived by false doctrine and cults, there is even a greater need for a return to the Word of God. And so, we have authored under the prompting of our mentor, Dr. Charles Travis, The Assignment.  It has a summary of the early church history, a look at small groups, and the book also contains one-page Quick Notes on Who is God, The Bible, Salvation, Water Baptism, Communion, God’s Gifts to us, The Lord’s Prayer, Healing, and Deliverance.  There is no quicker way to learn the basics of our faith. There is no better time than now to reverse the downward trend of church growth.

Begin Now to Build the Church

The book, The Assignment, covers in detail why we should follow the early church growth model, no matter the size of the church. The largest churches in the world have small groups that meet and develop lifelong relationships. That is possibly why they are large.

Contact us and discuss the possibility of starting a small group for the purpose of discipleship and expanding the Kingdom of God.
